It also provides practical frameworks for information professionals who wish to design and evaluate information systems and services that are user-centered.

Medical librarians directly impact the quality of patient care by assisting healthcare professionals and providing health information. This course will discuss health literacy, health information resources and systems (e.g., MeSH, PubMed, MedlinePlus), and overview of the profession (Ethics, Qualifications).

Data curation is the active and continuous management of data through its lifecycle to increase its usefulness. This course provides an overview of data curation as life-cycle management to collect, organize, manage, evaluate, preserve, share, and support the use and re-use of data assets. The course introduces data curation models, infrastructures, standards, policies, and practices, and we will practically apply them to an actual data curation research. This course includes lectures, discussions and exercises, assignments, and project.

By the end of the course, students will be able to apply the relevant theories and concepts of data visualization in practical settings. It is intended for people who work in libraries and other information-intensive organizations, either now or in the future. Students will be able to develop strategies for reacting to user requirements and decision-making when huge and complicated data is being used, by using the most advanced data visualization technologies available. Additionally, students will be able to practice the abilities needed to complete data visualization projects.

To register for this class, each student must submit a research plan to the head of the department and register for the class with the permission of the professor in charge of guidance.
